Born and raised in Banning, Nathaniel “Nate” Rodriguez has deep roots in the community he calls home. His life has been shaped by faith, family, service, and a commitment to helping build a stronger future for the next generation.

Professionally, Nathaniel works as a Project Manager at Palm Springs Unified School District, where he helps oversee public projects, coordinate contractors and professionals, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are completed responsibly. That experience has given him firsthand knowledge of the importance of planning, accountability, fiscal responsibility, and following through on commitments.

Nathaniel’s commitment to service extends beyond his professional career. In 2022, Nathaniel and his family stepped out in faith and started a church in Banning, with a vision to serve people and make a positive impact in the community. Today, he continues to serve as a pastor and police chaplain, working alongside families, community leaders, and first responders.

His passion for the next generation also led him to establish a local nonprofit youth soccer organization, creating opportunities for young people to develop their skills, character, discipline, and confidence both on and off the field.

Nathaniel has also served his community through the Banning Planning Commission and other community initiatives. These experiences have allowed him to listen directly to residents, understand the challenges facing Banning, and see firsthand the opportunities the city has for responsible growth and a stronger future.

At the center of Nathaniel’s life is his family and a simple belief about leadership: service means showing up, listening, and being willing to do the work.

As someone who was born and raised in Banning, Nathaniel understands both the history of this community and its potential. He wants to see a Banning where families are proud to live, businesses can succeed, neighborhoods are safe, infrastructure is responsibly maintained, and residents know their voices matter.

For Nathaniel, Banning isn't simply the city he wants to serve. Banning is home.
